I had the immense privilege today of getting to meet one of my fellow World Racers and members of J Squad for the very first time!  FYI, I’ll be referring to all of the folks who are embarking on the same route as me come September – there’s about 40 of us!- as ‘my squad’ or ‘J squad’ from now on.  It’s so exciting that we’ve been officially given a letter/name, because it makes this adventure seem that much more real!

If you have spent even 24 hours with me at a time, then you undoubtedly know how much I love coffee, so what better place to meet my fellow Squad member, Caroline Ritchey, than a local coffee shop right here in Charlotte?!  We had so much fun simply getting to know one another, and sharing stories about the joys and hardships about preparing for this trip.  It was truly a blessing to get to talk to someone who knows exactly what I’m going through!  So, with this experience in the forefront of my brain, I thought that this would be a great opportunity for me to introduce you to J Squad!

Meet J Squad!

Come September, you’ll want to remember that letter “J” because it’s how The World Race and Adventures in Missions will be referring to us and will enable you to ‘track’ us through our entire route.  For all you ’90s babies out there, it’ll be like playing ‘Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?’. 🙂  If you’d like to take a look at my 11-country route that’ll take me around the world in 11 months (only slightly longer than 80 days), go ahead and click on the following link – if you’ve been to any of these countries, I would LOVE for you to comment with any tips, advice, or just share your experiences there!

Where in the World is Cassady Going to Be?

That’s all I’ve got for today, but hopefully this was an informative and interesting blog for you all!  I know it was for me – with every word I type I’m getting more and more excited about this adventure that the Lord is taking me on!  Stay tuned for a couple of blogs dedicated to how YOU can help make this adventure possible for me!

Love always!
