Hi!  If I don’t know you personally, or if you’d just like to know more about me and how I became a World Racer, please keep reading!

I recently graduated in May 2014 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (Go Niners!) with a B.S. in Psychology and minors in both Spanish and Biology.  The past four years have undoubtedly been the best years of my life thus far, and I am so grateful for all of the incredible friends and memories that were made during my time at UNC Charlotte.  As a college student, I spent the summer after my sophomore year in Cochabamba, Bolivia interning with physiotherapists in a school and an orphanage for children with disabilities.  This was the first time I had ever been out of the U.S. by myself, and I could not have asked for a better experience!  Bolivia will always hold a special place in my heart, and that summer ignited in my soul a passion for international travel and volunteer work, particularly the unique experience of immersing myself in another culture to more effectively meet the needs around me.

I spent the following summer in Charleston, SC participating in a Summer Project with CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ).  I became involved with CRU very early in my college career and am so grateful for the incredible impact that this ministry has had on my life and walk with the Lord.  My involvement with CRU and my summer in Charleston helped me to realize my passion for ministry and discipleship, which ultimately led me to The World Race.  Discipleship is an opportunity that all Christians have to come alongside fellow believers and encourage one another as we grow in our relationships with the Lord.  I am relational to the core, and my heart finds its greatest joy when I am building relationships with God’s dearly beloved sons and daughters!  I am excited to see how the Lord uses this passion in the lives of my World Race squad, my team, and of course the men and women we will have the privilege of serving over the next 11 months!

I tell you all of this to give you an idea of some things I’m interested in, however, the most important thing you could ever know about me is that I am a follower of Jesus who desires to worship and serve my Savior in every aspect of my life.  The best (and most catchy!) way that I’ve heard this described is that I am “blood-bought and Grace-taught.”  In other words, I have been saved from my own sin by the precious blood of Christ, and I am continuously being refined and made to be more and more like my Savior every day by the power of His immeasurable Grace.
