My team often teases Jeanne Bensch for it seems that everywhere we go she meets someone from Oklahoma. I always think, “I wish I could see someone from Kentucky.” As of ten months I haven’t met anyone who is from Kentucky but I will say Kentucky has be represented in all but the three countries of Africa. KFC IS EVERYWHERE!!! I always see KFC and think of the vacation Daddy took us on to see the very first KFC in Corbin, KY. I don’t even eat KFC all that much at home, but my heart melts a little everytime I see the Colonel from afar.
Kentucky I miss your bluegrass
I miss your Thouroughbred horses
I miss the excitement that roars when UK plays against UofL
I miss the beautiful hills and how the change of leaves transforms the drive to London
I miss seeing East and West band and dance teams perform in the Jessamine Jamboree
I miss the great venders in the Roots and Heritage festival
I miss open mic on Wendesday nights
I miss the Jazz Club
I miss derby pie at Main and Maple
I miss Bluegrass music
Most of all I miss hearing United Voices in my little church on the corner of York and Chestnut
Kentucky I’ll be home for Christmas decorations soon!!!
