I got off work and was super excited to get ready for a luncheon with my best friend, Pam.
I had told her to be at my house in time enough for us to get there by 12:30. And this is where all the plans went tumbling under.
OH NO. THERE GOES OUR PLANS
9:57 am – Received text from luncheon telling me it began at 12. Oh no! I had the time all wrong.
10:00am – Sent text to Pam to tell her to be at my house 30 minutes earlier.
10:20 am- Took shower and got all business-casual for the luncheon.
11:15 am – Went to get the tickets in my secret hiding place.
I SERIOUSLY LOST THE TICKETS
11:16am – Panicked because I forgot where my secret hiding place was.
11:17am – Stil panicking because we can’t get into the luncheon without the tickets.
11:21 am – Mom answered the phone with a frantic Pam who is running late because her hair brush broke while she was trying to blow dry her hair straight.
SHE BROKE HER BRUSH
11:22 am – I realized Pam was just now leaving her house. She never got my text.
11:31 am- Got through to the luncheon people and was able to get confirmation numbers
11:44am – Pam got to my house in record time but needed me to drive since she didn’t have her make up on yet.
11:56am – Got to down town Lexington and Pam says, “Which hotel is it?” “It’s at the Sheraton”. “The Sheraton is not downtown Lexington.”
11:59am – Realized it was pointless. There was no way we’d get to the luncheon in time.
12:01pm – Laughed hysterically and decided to go to TJ Max.
12:07pm – Pulled up in the shopping parking lot got out and locked keys in Pam’s car. She had to pull her broken window down and get the keys out.
12:12pm – As we faced TJ Max we decided we were too hungry to go in and both had a taste for Chick- fil-a.
12:25pm – We are sitting in a booth behind a couple and the woman’s children, one of them biracial. I couldn’t stop looking at the girl’s hair. I was worried that the Mom had no idea how to do her biracial daughter’s hair.
12:30pm – “Pam, I have to talk to this woman. I can’t let her leave without talking to her.” “Don’t do it, Casondra. She’s gonna get so upset with you and it’s gonna cause a scene.” “I have to.” “Well do it but I’m hiding in the bathroom”
12:38pm – After a long conversation with the woman Pam comes back in the booth to hear the woman say,
“I WAS JUST PRAYING
THAT GOD WOULD SEND ME SOMEONE TO DO MY DAUGHTER’S HAIR.”
12:47pm – Pam and I sat in the car and praised the Lord. He had all those crazy things happen to prevent us from going to the luncheon so that we would meet this woman at Chick-fil-a. WOW!
God gives us all “inclings” to do something. He calls us to obey! With obedience comes blessing.
