Yesterday on our off day, we left our home at 4am to travel more than an hour away to watch the sunrise in celebration of Kerry’s birthday. Well, let’s just say our plans were altered a bit. Our car broke down and we waited for a new battery.

After much needed rest, we traveled by boat to the volcano. This was an interesting homemade boat with Clorox bleach buckets on the sides.

We went on horseback ride up the volcano.

In the midst of my ride up, my guide decided she was a bit tired and jumped on the back of the horse with me.
At one point she had the rope to the horse so tight around my neck, I thought I was going to choke. Everyone was laughing because none of their guides jumped on with them.
After a 35 minute ride, we were blessed to see the inside of a volcano. It was beautiful.

Sharing birthdays with my teammates is not only a blessing for them but for me. It provides an open door for us to grow closer as a team. When we are united, our prayers are united and we are therefore better able to minister to these people we have been called to.
