Like-Minded ATL
I was flabbergasted this afternoon as each person named their vision for ATL (Ask the Lord) next month.  We all seemed to be on the same page.  Art was the common ground for majority of us.  We agreed our ministry next month would have to do with art.  We just weren’t positive which of the five countries given we’d end up in.  We were leaving that to God.

Sliding to a Home
This afternoon we went to a house on a hill.  We slid all the way up the hill because it was so muddy.  I even caught some poison leaf on the way.  It was a one room house where we went.  The father was embarrassed to invite us in due to it being “dirty”.  All six children, mom, dad and others sleep in a house the size of my bedroom at home.  Their clothes hung outdoors.  He kept mentioning he couldn’t finish the house due to money.  I felt foolish us bringing them a couple pieces of candy and offering a prayer.  Can we build on to their house?  I wanted to do more but we had to slide back down the hill to another village.

Everyone in this village were related.  One lady and six children lived in what looked like a tent.  The families were arguing over trash while we took the children to the field.  As we sang “Deep and Wide” I took the blind girl’s hand beside me and taught her the motions.  I felt like I was teaching Helen Keller.  She had the biggest smile on her face.  Lauren approached me afterwards and said she wanted to cry because she was so touched.  I wanted to cry when I first realized the girl couldn’t see the motions we were doing.  All I could think was if she can’t see them, let her feel them.
