Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever you would call me
-Hillsong United
When this song first came out, I was nearly floored by its weight. It was right around the time that I had been called to the World Race, and it seemed very fitting to sing; this song declaring my intention to go “wherever Jesus called me”. However, a few weeks ago, I was challenged and convicted by God and he clearly spoke to me that I was not as willing to walk upon the waters as I thought I was. Shoot. I was scared of the unknown, and hindered by my need to control and micromanage everything. He went on to speak to me about my lack of trust that he would faithfully provide everything I need. I had a serious heart problem.
James 1:6-7 says: But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
God wants to bless me and give me the desires of my heart, but if I am doubting that he can do them, he’s not going to. Uh-oh. I had the harsh realization that simply asking is not enough; there has to be complete trust along with the request…a trust without borders. I’ve spent a couple weeks asking God to change my heart and build my trust, and it has been anything but easy.
In my life and in my call to the World Race, a trust without borders looks like:
1. Trusting God with the new timeline for the World Race, which now includes the holidays, unexpected countries, and a new squad.
2. Trusting God to provide $12,000 more in financial support along with vaccinations, gear, and taking care of finances here before I go.
3. Trusting God to guide me as I prepare to leave everything behind for 11 months; to prepare my family and friends for my launch; and to prepare my heart for launch.
This trust means that I wouldn’t have anxiety and unnecessary worry about these things, but that I would welcome God to work in HIS timeline and in his own way. That I would be willing to walk upon the waters WHEREVER he may call me.
This has been just a small tidbit of the amazing work God has been doing in my life so far, and I cannot wait to share more with you! Go to the ‘Follow Me’ tab if you want to receive a notification for my blog posts!
As I mentioned earlier, I have $12,000 more to raise. $3,000 more must be raised by the end of June in order for me to launch in July, but I am praying that I will be fully funded before launch! If you would like to join my support team with a monthly or one-time donation, please go to the ‘support me’ tab on the side of this page!
Thank-you for following me on this beautiful journey!
