It is my hope that you when you read the blog title that you sang the “Frozen” song in your head a little bit. Let me apologize in advance for the “Frozen” themed blog you’re about to read. Just kidding, just kidding.

The song “Do you want to build a snowman” has been stuck in my head since our first snowstorm last week. It was an epic one, and many people I was around that day expressed their disgust at the amount of snow that accumulated. But please take a second and LOOK at this picture:

This was taken right outside my house during the storm. This is BEAUTIFUL; nothing less. For the first time since I was maybe 10-years-old, I walked outside and felt excited to see the snow. I was smiling and taking in the beauty and gracefulness of the snowflakes and feeling a childlike joy at the fluffy white snow piling up on the ground. It was amazing; and I kept thinking that the feeling would pass, but it hasn’t. I keep waking up everyday with the anticipation of the good I am going to encounter, rather than the worry that something bad will happen. And this is nothing short of a gift from God. I feel that God is preparing my heart and transforming my mind for the things I am going to encounter on the World Race. There are going to be environments that aren’t ideal, living conditions I don’t like, and times when I want to take the easy way out, but it is my hope that I will remember this time of preparation and always look for the beauty and the blessing; that I would always recognize the importance of staying focused on building the Kingdom and serving people.

So for now, while I’m fundraising and preparing, it is my prayer that I will continue to turn my face away from negativity, and instead towards God’s blessings; that I would love people and love the place I am so blessed to live in; and that I would boldly and truthfully be able to sing out that:

The cold never bothered me anyway.

FUNDRAISING UPDATE:

Thank-you to everyone who has donated so far to my support account or purchased a t-shirt! I am beyond blessed. I am PRAISING God that I am only $200 away from my first deadline! I am confidently moving forward with fundraising; my next fundraiser is my pick-a-number fundraiser! All you have to do is pick a number on the board and you have until January 1st to donate that amount (so 1=$1). You can give by cash, check, or directly to my support account, just let me know your preference! 9 of the numbers have secret prizes for the person who picks them! let me know which number you’d like! The amazing part is if 100 people took a number, I would be at my second goal and halfway to my third!

Thank-You!
