Wow!  This month has gone by sooo fast.  It’s been filled with lots of preaching, testimonies, and singing and dancing on a daily basis.  Most people here are glad to meet us and the biggest opposition we face is from those of the Islam faith who want nothing to do with us or our God.   Even so, yesterday in church there was a woman who stood up and introduced herself as a first time visitor.  She then grabbed the microphone and went on for a few minutes in Swahili.  After translation, turns out she was overfilled with joy and happiness and had to share it with the congregation!  My eyes filled with tears as I realized that she was now a sister I would see in Heaven.  The whole church erupted and celebrated another one for the kingdom.
Last week we were going around and meeting and getting to know some locals.  After a frustrating conversation with a Muslim family, we were seeking someone who used to be of that faith and now is a Christian.  Next thing we know, as we are asking the Pastor if he knows anyone like this, he says yes!  This lady right here used to be Muslim and now knows the Lord.  She warmly invites us back to her house and once we enter and sit down we meet her Muslim sister.  Of course God took us there for a reason besides to educate us.  We had a great talk and realized she was ready to commit to Jesus, but she was scared because of the situation of her sister.  Here’s what happened to her:  She was Muslim and married to a Muslim man.  They have a son and the husband starts reading the wife stories from the bible.  Of course the Holy Spirit starts doing its’ thing and soon enough she’s in love with Jesus.  She gets divorced and moves back to her parents (who are also Muslim).  The husband comes and takes the kid.  Now her parents are threatening her that unless she returns to the Islam faith that they will kick her out of the house.  Talk about making a stand for Jesus!!  We were so blessed to hear her story and encouraged by how strong her faith is.  So now her sister has witnessed this journey her sister has gone on and is scared.  But we shared the truth with her so now we’re just waiting for Jesus to fully grab her heart.
Two of the days last week we did a crusade at an open air location.  Of course loud music attracts all sorts of people, especially kids.  This one boy, who seemed to be the leader of all the kids took a special liking to Casey.  Soon enough they are trading handstands and kick-flips and all sorts of “maleâ€ bonding.  He’s about 7 years old and has a smile that just lights up his face.  Well guess who shows up to church on Sunday???  Emice, Casey’s little friend.  He came over and sat right next to Casey.  We opened a Swahili bible and showed him some verses from Romans about Salvation.  He looked interested which is why we couldn’t understand why he left for 20 minutes or so.  Soon, our question was answered.  He came back, this time with 2 friends!  The kid’s not even saved yet and is already doing evangelism..haha!  After the service Casey used the Pastor to tell him that he’s a leader and how excited he was that Emice came to church and hopes he comes back.
Like I said to start off, this month has gone by super fast.  And all of it is filled with lots of stories and  salvations.   We continually thank God for leading our steps and giving us divine appointments.  There’s even a lady who lives close by and leaves me little notes and even gave me an African dress!  One more week here in Africa, we are trying to touch as many lives as we can.   The Lord is very powerful here and it’s been a great joy to worship the African way!
