This year has definately been an adventure. We have gone through some hard times with our teams, and also just with ourselves. We have seen poverty and corruption. We have been used in some amazing miracles by God. But I think the thing that has struck home to me most, the lesson I have learned that I want to spread to all the world is…
WHERE ARE THE REAL MEN?
As you read your Bible, towns are counted by the number of men. When crowds come to know Christ they are counted by the number of men. When Jesus feeds the people with a few fish it says there were five thousand men, oh yeah, and also some women and children there too. Today our congragation is counted by anyone who puts a foot in the door. Women are having to take on the roles because men are not.
WILL THE REAL MEN STAND UP?
The typical man in the church today will go only if “his team” plays later in the afternoon or better yet, if the Tivo is plugged in. How many men did you see sleeping last Sunday in service? Why is that ok? Why does he even show up? Sure it’s between him and God, but is this the man you want leading your homes? Is this the man you want going into battle for you on a daily basis? The one that can’t even keep his eyes open to hear from the Lord Sunday morning? No wonder our nation is going to crap. The man are all too tired to stand up.
DID YOU BRING YOUR SWORD?
Jesus is both feminine and masculine. He always has compassion. He loved first. He will always hold you when you are in need. But… He is always ready to throw down! When the people where selling their goods in the church did he plead with them to stop? Did He quietly and calmly ask them to stop? Heck no! He threw the tables over and called them out. I picture those being solid wood tables or maybe even stone too. Jesus had to be a buff dude to do that. When He went out looking for his followers did he ask the nice men? Yeah right, he went straight for the smelly, ripped fisher guys. When Peter sliced the mans ear off, he was aiming for his head. He was packing some heat! He was ready to stand up for his leader. When was the last time you were that passionate about your leader? Samson killed how many guys with a jaw bone? What? A bone? And it says God was with him. Not angy, not absent. Right along side him setting people straight. If you are against God or Jesus then you will pay the price, right?
CHRISTIAN GENTLEMAN.
Ok, ok so I am not saying we need to start cutting some heads off. But lets look at what this could be. A true man of God should be kind and loving to the women of the church. He should love his neighbor more then himself. He should honor and cherish his wife. Treat her as a gift from the Lord because she is, right ladies? He should be in some position of leadership or at least involved with his church. But, he should also be ready at any time to “man up.” This is a battle ground we are living in constantly. He should be putting on his armor everyday and especially able and ready to use it. In the movie 300, when Leanitis came with his men what was their profession? “HUH HUH HUH!!” was their answer. What is your profession? Where is your armor? Why was Marcus Aralius such a man? He was willing to die for what he believed in. Are you ready to die for what you believe? Are you that sold out, that in tune, are you even awake anymore? Where are the men that God created in His own like image?
I’M ON FIRE!
Now that I have your attention and you know where I am at, we need to start acting this way. Our women want and need a man like this. Why do you think they read those romance novels with the huge chizzeled man on the cover? It’s not just the women either, our church is in need too. I don’t know where God is leading me or how I will get this demon killing, miracle healing, compassionate leader of a man awake. But I do know I am ready and I am putting on my armor because I will be on the front lines waiting for the enemy to attack. Will you be by my side?
