Hey guys! To all of you who have chosen to partner with me in prayer for this big year of 2017 – this blog is for you! While on the field, I’m sure I will give more specific updates, but for now – here are some things I know you can be praying for.
the nations
Then He said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Matthew 9:37-38.
• Pray that God would already begin working in the hearts of those we will come in contact with, softening hearts to be in a place to hear from the Lord.
• Pray that both believers and nonbelievers alike would seek refuge in Jesus Christ, the only true hope of salvation in our suffering and broken world.
• Pray for the countries on my route! Over the next 11 months, we will be journeying to Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Spain and Morocco. The Joshua Project is a great resource to use to know how to pray for these countries and their peoples.
my team (t-squad)
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25.
• Pray for gracious humility, kindness and unity, authentic community and Spirit-led vulnerability within our squad as a whole as well as our specific teams.
• Pray that we would be faithful to step outside of our comfort zones, quick to obedience, bold in grace, and secure in our identities as sons and daughters of God.
• Pray that our thoughts, words and deeds would all stem from a place of Love.
me
To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. 1 Corinthians 9:22.
• Pray that I will work hard, live and love sacrificially and rest well.
• Pray that I will grow in dependence, love and affection for Jesus and against a spirit of self-sufficiency.
• Pray that I can rest in new mercies each morning, and be faithful to serving where my feet are.
“Only God can move mountains, but faith and prayer can move God.” E.M. Bounds.
