after being in san pedro and working in san pablo for almost three weeks the dread had plenty of time to build up…

our last day was arriving far to quickly! but at last it finally came. we had done our last radio broadcasting – well we prayed while it was done and sang an old hymn in english. and now it was time to realize that this was it…

i think that god saved the best for last!  we had been trying to get into a school in san pablo since the first day we arrived, it just never seemed to work out. but on
thursday we were able to go to the
school. normally when i think of doing a program at a school i think 5 – 11 year olds, in elementary school, little ones. well not this time! we would be facing
14 – 20 year olds. small program – a few kids in a class, right? wrong again…
over 100 kids out in the courtyard. they were sitting on chairs, leaning on the walls and hanging off of the stairs and leaning over the guardrail upstairs.  we don’t have a lot of drama’s or anything pre-pared, and most dramas are aimed at the little kids. so what do we do?     ….    we did what we know and what was in our hearts.
we did a drama, shared testimonies, taught from the bible, and gave a visual gospel presentation. and of course you can’t just leave things at that.. so we gave an invitation to come to christ and prayed.     when we were done we had several kids come up who had re-dedicated themselves to the lord after spending time not serving him. we even had an entire classroom that wanted us to come down and talk and pray for them. we were able to challenge them not to wait to make the decision, but that it really is up to them no one else can make it for them.
we had at least 5 kids pray for christ to take away / forgive them for their sins and to come live in their life!

we would have spent more time at the school if we didn’t have to run up the hill to go to church as we were having such a good time talking with the students. it was a great time and it was even better having the pastor and his wife there with us to be able to do follow up with the kids who are now walking with the lord. it was a wonderful highlight to a sad goodbye.
