We arrived In Malaysia 4 days ago.  I am loving it so far! I spent the last few days thinking of all I have learned in Africa and wanted to share this knowledge.

So here is my top 10 things I learned in Africa!

1. Never trust a puddle.
Little boys tend to pee wherever they like, so if you drop a belonging in a puddle it’s best you just leave it there. But they look so innocent.

2. Road lanes and basically ALL traffic laws are optional.
Short story: My team and I were taking a taxi back to our guesthouse. A few cars ahead of us there was a small fender bender, but all traffic had to stop, we could not go around because there was a divider in the middle of the road about waste high. Our Taxi driver, along with others, decided to turn around drive down to where the divider was broken, drove over it and continued to drive on the wrong side of the road until the divider was broken again and he could cross back over.

3. If it fits, it sits.
This does not apply to cats only. There have been plenty of times all 5 of us squeezed into 3 seats or less. Or when 2 girls road on top of the loaded moving truck.

4. It is okay to call people fat, it is a compliment here, also fat people get shotgun.

5. To call a monkey, you simply yell “Monkey” until he shows up.. it really works.

6. It is okay to ask directions when you are lost. Men do it here too.
Even if that means stopping in the middle of a road or roundabout to ask the guy in the car next to you or behind you.

7. We learned how to milk cows.

8. Squeeze lime on your pineapple. It just tastes better.

9. God DOES provide.
One day we needed to leave our hostel and go to southern Rwanda. We felt God telling us JUST GO. We did, we got on a bus and headed south knowing we wouldn’t arrive until night time. God placed a man on that bus who not only spoke English, but he helped us find a place to stay, and helped us get there. This is not the only instance when we depended on God and He provided for us.

10. There is power in your words, use them to have powerful prayers.

I’ll end this with this video of one of my favorite kids I’ve met singing a song for you ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, at the end of the month we need to be fully funded. I am about $3,900 away from being fully funded, so any help would be appreciated! You can donate here on my blog or even contact my mom, dad or brother and they can help you ๐Ÿ™‚

*Thanks Mom, dad and Robby, even though I volunteered you ๐Ÿ˜‰
