“Do not hand over the life of your dove to wild beasts; do not forget the lives of your afflicted people forever. Have regard for your covenant, because haunts of violence fill the dark places of the land. Do not let the oppressed retreat in disgrace; may the poor and needy praise your name. Rise up, O God, and defend your cause; remember how fools mock you all day long. Do not ignore the clamor of your adversaries, the uproar of your enemies which rises continually.”
Psalms 74:19-23
What am I to you Lord?
Where can I go, what can I do, that you will not see?
I am not who I once was, but I’m also not who I will become.
My thoughts build, my emotions gather. I am not alone.
You are with me. I know it, but my thoughts are Chaos but for the light that is with me.
Darkness shrieks at the sound of your name. I do not shudder though darkness surrounds my thoughts.
I take up courage by the one who gives me strength.
I am not alone. I am not weak, but in my weakness I am strong.
I will rise, because I know that He who holds me up, wants to see me succeed.
What a marvelous light that pierces the darkness!
In the light I stand free, until the end.
