Mision Caribe is a Christian mission organization set up in the city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The mission home is in the city of Tegucigalpa with seven church plants in the south part of Honduras that are reaching out to small hard to reach communities. The main focus of Mision Caribe is planting churches, growing leaders, and serving the community. With every church plant they spend time building up and equipping local leaders in the community to lead the church being planted. In an effort to leave every church being self-sufficient, a lot of focus is put into developing good leadership. Besides church planting and growing leaders, serving the community is another focus of Mision Caribe. Mision Caribe serves to bring the Gospel to many communities in Honduras as well as meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the people they are trying to reach.

My team and I stayed with Mision Caribe for about a week and met with Ana and Melisa the administrators of the work being done in southern Honduras. They often have mission teams from the United States come and help serve in the various outreaches in which Mision Caribe is involved. The different ministries include construction of churches and homes for poorer families, feeding programs for children, vacation bible schools, teaching English and bible stories to children in school, short term missions and discipleship for the youth, and evangelism within the communities.
Mision Caribe is an organization that is sponsored by various churches in the United States and is effectively run by a wonderful group of people who have a heart for the people of Honduras and a desire to see them know and grow in Christ. Ana and Melisa work hard to maintain structure and organization for the seven different church plants and various activities going on throughout the year and also keep the sponsors updated on the work of Mision Caribe. They are supported by a great team of people willing to serve and love the community of Mision Caribe and the various churches.
