Hey friends! We’ve reached month 3. I can hardly believe it. Thank you all so much for following along and being part of this journey with me. I’m working on getting my Month 2 Newsletter finished and sent out and I can’t wait for you all to hear the stories and see the pictures! (If you aren’t currently receiving my newsletter, comment below with your email and I’ll be sure to send it to you!)

So, here we are in Zambia. Entering month 3 which is all squad month for us. This means that all 6 of our individual teams have come together to do ministry this month. As a recap, what generally happens on the World Race is that our squad is split into smaller teams and each month when we enter a country we are put in different locations with different ministry concentrations. So all the things I have shared with you thus far are only what my team of 6 has been doing. The other teams making up our squad have been doing many other things and together we are reaching the lost of Africa and helping the natives to reach their communities.

This month our location as a squad is Livingstone! For those of you who are familiar with the term “tourist area”, this definitely fits the description. The area is known for the beautiful Victoria Falls, many safaris, white water rafting opportunities and the like. The hostel we are staying in for the month is close to the main part of the city and just about anything we need is within walking distance!

Our ministry this month is with an organization called J Zone (Jesus Zone). The couple who run it, Sanderson and Lweendo are a beautiful couple with hearts for the Lord and their country. They started the organization in 2007 and reach out to children, youth, widows and the remote villages of the area.

This month we’ll be helping them to prepare their play park ( a large plot of land ) by installing fencing, clearing the brush, and building areas for activities. We’ll also be doing Bible study for widows, helping in the orphanage, holding a medical clinic in the village and plethora of other things! We’re so excited to be here this month to help and work alongside this great couple and expand their ministry for the cause of Christ!

Keep following along, sharing my blog, and praying for my team and me. I am excited to share more with you as the month goes on.
