God Is On The Move In China

This statement may be a little puzzling to you.

You may be thinking, “Yes, sure He is Cary, but what does this have to do with you? You are not in China!”

Well, let me just share a story with you.

~

This is the story of the bold obedience of a few connecting perfectly with the movement of God throughout the nations. This story never would have happened had Jesus not been conducting it, all of it. So, here we go!

~

A team of six incredible women (aka: The Golden Girls) started their month in Thailand in the northern city of Chiang Mai. The desire to live boldly, confidently, and courageously for the Kingdom weighed heavy on their hearts. It seemed a bit terrifying, but they heard Him calling for deeper obedience.

One morning, the team met and prayed.

“God what is on Your heart for today?”

“How can we live boldly for Your Kingdom today?”

“Increase boldness, confidence, and courage within each of us today!”

After, listening prayer…

~ One of the teammates shared that she received a vision from God of the team playing and singing worship music at the square in front of Thapae Gate at some point during their time in Chiang Mai.

~ Another teammate shared that God had told her to share scripture at the square in front of Thapae Gate at some point during their time in Chiang Mai.

~ A third teammate shared that she felt God wanted the team to publicly worship at the square in front of Thapae Gate that day.

Three bold answers aligned. A common thread of unity wove God’s voice together for the team. Praise God for alignment and unity in vision.

The women were called to boldly and confidently worship Him that very day.

That night the Golden Girls went out for dinner and intended on heading to the square in front of Thapae Gate to worship together after. At the end of the meal, an intimidating storm rolled in. Big, black, fast-moving clouds filled the sky. Darkness was falling quickly. There was hesitation among the group.

Go worship? Seek shelter? What to do?

The strong pull to go to the square in front of Thapae Gate consumed many in the team. The decision was made to go sing until they could not, until the rain came down.

They went.

They prayed.

“We love you Lord. Holy Spirit bring people to us tonight.

People who need You, Jesus. People who need You today.”

They started.

With a ukulele and bold, harmonious voices, amidst the wind, they worshiped.

“Through it all. Through it all, My eyes are on You. Through it all. Through it all, It is well.”

“My chains are gone. I’ve been set free. My God, My Savior has ransomed me. And like a flood His mercy reigns. Unending Love. Amazing Grace.”

“So, Let go my soul and trust in Him. The wind and waves still know Your name.”

A man walked up and joined them. Listening and smiling.

Rain drops falling from above began colliding with that which was below.

The team and the man moved inside the Starbucks at Thapae Gate to seek shelter, but the night was not over.

The third story balcony area became their ground. All around outside it poured. The wind blew fiercely. A mighty, majestic display of our sovereign Lord’s power and bigness.

Then two felt the call to go invite the people sitting in Starbucks to join. Minutes passed. One by one, eight more people came upstairs to join in worship. The nations joined in worship. America, Israel, Indonesia, Haiti, Thailand, and China were all represented. The scene was beautiful.

On Earth as It Is In Heaven.

The entire group sang together.

One of the Golden Girls spoke a word that had been on her heart for some time. The topic…

BUT God.

After the word was shared the Golden Girls boldly and confidently partnered with our new friends to chat and pray specifically for each.

Two of the Golden Girls started talking with the sweet young couple from China. The couple was on their honeymoon in Thailand. The teammates asked if they could pray for them. This question was met by confusion and perplexed looks. One teammate asked if they had heard the name of Jesus Christ. The couple said “yes”, but their looks made the ladies question the response. Inquisitive, puzzled, ready spirits were there. The door was wide open. The Lord had beautifully orchestrated for that door to be open.

That night on the third story balcony of a Starbucks in Chiang Mai, Thailand the truths of the Gospel were shared with an inquiring Chinese couple. Boldly and confidently the Gospel met the ears, hearts, and minds of God’s image bearers who live in a country closed to Christianity. A country that persecutes Christians. A country where God is on the move.

After the two Golden Girls, prayed big, bold prayers for the couple.

Rich conversation followed.

As the Chinese couple left that Starbucks that night, seeds had been planted. Those planted seeds returned to China the very next day.

This story shows that God is on the move.

God is on the move in China.

It’s a pretty cool story, right!?!

Praise God.

LoVe,

Cary

Side Note: This is just one story from this night. This is the story that stood out to me. I was one of the teammates who shared the Gospel with the couple from China that night. But you see, it is beautiful to me how even though my entire team lived this night together we each took different stories from it. Feel free to read through my teammates’ blogs telling of this night in Chaing Mai. {RachelDakota, and Jessi}

May you see the beauty in perspectives and all of the ways God is moving. It is INCREDIBLE to be a part! Thank you to each and every individual who has supported me on this journey of LoVe. You are a part of all of this as well!
