Shoot man I don’t think I’ve ever been emerged in the environment or landscape where I saw the Lords’ beauty as much as this day.

Rainbow Mountain or Montaña de Siete Colores was a must do on my bucket list for any free days we had I just had to get at least one other person to come with me.  (buddy ruleee)  A few of my teammates ended up joining in; Brenden, Jacob, Josh & Elijah C.  Freaking pumped that they were able to come and that we were able to go to one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been.

(I saw thousands of alpacas no joke and thrived because of it)

We woke up morning of at 4 a.m. in order to get ready, brush our teeth, and walk a little over a mile down to where we met out ride to the base camp.  Once we had our one stop for breakfast of bread, jelly and tea after two hours of driving, we got back in the van for another 3 hours.  Once we started heading off of the main road on to the curvy mountain side that would lead us to base camp, I started to be blown away.  Myself piece by piece, turn by turn on the mountain roads was simply blown away.  Literally breathless and teary eyed in the creation of the Lord not knowing what to say, think or make of any of it.  Man the mountains, the animals, the villages we drove through with parents and children all starting their day & work whether that looked like checking on the fish hatcheries, herding the alpaca and sheep, harvesting crops or walking miles into town to sell in the markets.  A totally different life to me which looked so beautiful but to them was just another day.  I tried to picture life in their shoes but simply couldn’t.  We finally got the base camp and had a 6 mile hike down a path to the peak of rainbow mountain.  Whatever little amount of air I had left in my lungs at the 17,000 ft summit of this hike was all taken away in awe of the Lords creation.  This day was a day and a great one in fact.  Totally blown away by the architect and creator of the work we live in who we are privileged to call Father.  The joy, the astonishment, the fatigue it all showed up throughout this day in ways that we could easily turn right around into encouragement for us all.  Days like this are simply days we don’t forget.
