(I am posting things back to back, which I realize I probably shouldn´t do, but nonetheless hopefully you´ve read the post before this as well).
So, I love making movies using pictures and short video clips from places I have visited. This is super easy to do if you have a Mac and can use Imovie. No one even has to show you how to use it. It´s easy to just click around and figure it out. For this trip I have a wonderful little netbook pc and I downloaded Windows Movie Maker. I uploaded a quick test video to movie maker before I left and it seemed to work fine, so I assumed making videos and editing would be no problem. I was so wrong. But rather than writing a paragraph venting my frustrations, I have instead written a short poem that expresses my distaste for Windows Movie Maker. I hope you enjoy:
Oh Windows Movie Maker what faith I had in you
I thought you´d work well and be user-friendly too
But how wrong I was in every single way
You´ve caused me anger and frustration day after day
So now upon my face there is an angry glare
And I have some grievances that I must share
Here are my 2 video clips, their order I want to switch
But you just won´t let me, there´s always a glitch
Your animations and transitions are not what I envision
Quit puting them in automatically, let me make the decision
I want to add something in, just a quick drag and drop
But what of this splitting nonsense, it´s really got to stop
And why yes I would like to add music, thank you for inquiring
But evidently I don´t have the file type you are requiring
Itunes isn´t compatible is what you´re telling me
I haven´t another music option, so silent my movies will be
So to you Windows Movie Maker, I raise a flag of white
You win this war, I will no longer fight
Instead I dream of Imovie and its far superior ways
For Imovie has my heart and will to the end of days.
(I´ll still try and post some video clips soon, but just know they could be so much cooler if I could only use my beloved Imovie!)
