Well, some of you may already know this, but some do not.
When I signed up for the World Race there was a race route. It was a tentative route, as all World Race routes are, just because of the nature of this kind of mission. So much can change, making our destinations unsafe or even just losing contact people in the various countries. About a month after I was accepted my race route “changed.”
To be exact, I got an email that informed me of the change to the route. I followed the link and found this:
We know where you’re going… but you don’t.
Durring that month between being accepted and finding out my route had changed I was feeling nervous, wondering what exactly I was thinking going to 11 countries. I was often pretty convinced I had lost my mind. When I found out the route was now unknown I was sure of it. Well, naturally I panicked. For one whole night.
The next day I woke up knowing that God was in control of this trip. He had been since the beginning, whether or not I had the eyes to see that. I settled into a place of comfort about my destinations, found a sense of peace that I did not have when I could list for you the 11 countries I would be going to.
So the question I fist posed in my title is… where am I going?
Well, I’m not entirely clueless. The World Race organization does know where we’re going and has given us a bit of info, which I am here to pass on. We were given a list of areas we will be in along with clues about the exact countries, as well as a list of issues we will be focusing on in our outreach. We all put in our guesses and the World Race staff has confirmed two countries so far, see below. (We hope to find out where we will be next year for Christmas as our Christmas present!!) It was quite fun to research the clues and to see what everyone’s guesses were.
Areas:
Caribbean – Dominican Republic is confirmed as one of the Caribbean countries!!!
Eastern Europe – ??? I hope for Romania
Eurasia – Turkey is confirmed!!!
Africa – ??? Pretty much every World Race spends 3 months (3 countries) in Africa.
East Asia – ??? Although I’m 90% sure Cambodia, and slightly less sure Thailand. Part of me hopes for China (which is a closed country, but that doesn’t mean World Race hasn’t gone there before!) although I’m not sure that is considered East Asia.
Issues/Causes

That’s what I know so far….
I shall keep you all informed as it unfolds!
