I really wish that you could all meet our ministry contact, Pastor Manuel, and his family. They have been so generous and loving! They have had us over for dinner twice and his daughter, Ana, has taken us girls out shopping. On our day off they took us hiking in the mountains.
He is a man through whom God’s love flows in rivers and torrents. His love for the community of Las Charcas is true and deep. Our team has been very blessed by him and has grown close to him and his family. Yesterday, on our last day of ministry he began to cry as he told the children at VBS (vacation bible school) that it was our last day with them.
The last few times that we have had VBS the kids of Las Charcas had already gathered and were waiting for us to arrive. We have taught them a number of Bible stories and some new songs and games. As we prepared to leave on our last day they blocked a few of us from getting in the van, asking us to stay. As we drove away they chased after our car and I struggled not to cry. I hope they were as blessed by us as we were by them.
