So what is the WORLD RACE?
“The world is dark, light your part.”
In Short, the
World Race is an eleven-month mission trip to eleven different countries.
BUT it is so
much more than just that. It is a life changing, world rocking, action
provoking, inhibition smashing, thought transforming, normal wrecking type
journey. It is loving, touching, healing, listening, telling, caring, sharing
life with the “least of these” around the world. The poorest of the poor. The filthiest of
the filthy. The sickest of the sick. The lost are found and the hungry fed. The
outcast finds a friend.
This is a push
back your sleeves and get your hands dirty type gospel sharing and living.
This is living
in tents, out of backpacks, and eating more rice and beans than ever thought
possible.
This is leaving
everything we know of life in the US: our families, friends, hot showers,
lattes, and DVRs.
This is going
out to change the world and return having changed yourself.
This is laughter
and cries. It is hope and change. It is stepping out in faith NOT fear.
This is wrecking
the earth with the kingdom of Heaven and spiritual truths.
It is to not
only speak the gospel but “receive our living from it” (1 Cor.9:14).
It is to tell
all that Christ, the son of the ONE and ONLY God, came to Earth as fully man
and fully God. He lived a perfect life and became the perfect SACRIFICE for all
mankind. Because of man’s depravity, NO man may come to the Father or His
kingdom except through Jesus. Christ bridged the gap separating man and God, by
giving His life, dying, and raising back to life. If we BELIEVE in our hearts
and CONFESS with our mouths that ‘JESUS is LORD‘, we will be SAVED.
The World Race
follows the command given to believers in Matthew 10:7-8:
“HEAL the sick,
RAISE the dead, CLEAN the unclean, CAST out demons. FREELY you have received,
freely GIVE.”
