1. The friendliness of the people. Everywhere we went, we were celebrities.
2. The tender care of our new friends in helping us shop for leggings with fur inside (amazing!), boots, scarves and everything else winter related!
3. A little local coffee shop where Uno was played, conversations were had, and where we pray Jesus will one day be known.
4. Dove chocolate. All girls team. Enough said.
5. This little restaurant a few blocks away that served my favorite food thus far on the race. It was delicious.
6. Using chopsticks… though this wasn’t fun at first. I swear my fingers got cramps in them.
7. Our dear sweet friend Kathy who loved us in more ways that I can write down in the few short weeks we got to spend with her.
8. Laughing at each other as we learned to:
· Fight our way onto too crowded buses
· Catch taxis with a unique to China little hand wave
· Send secret looks across seats in the aforementioned taxis when we thought we were going to die, be kidnapped, or both
· Cross the street. Every time we tried I seriously thought we were going to die.
· Play charades to order food, figure out where places were, shop, and, most importantly, try to figure out how the heck to get home (because we got lost. A lot.)
9. “Is this ice?” (checking….) “Yes, it is.” Everybody grandma walk.
10. And most importantly, getting to share the gospel and the Word with new friends.
