Four friends, three hours, three attempts, forgetting pants, remembering pants, remembering meds, and a couple weigh-ins later I am packed any sitting at 43lbs to carry around the next 11 months.
Two farewell parties, tears, phone calls to put insurance and plans on hold, through clean of my apartment, car wash and thank you notes -I have tied up loose ends.
Airplane tickets confirmed, travel arrangements and accommodation confirmed, and sightseeing itineraries made means Washington D.C. here I come!
I have been in Washington hanging out with my Dad and the wonderful Misco Family doing some sightseeing and experiencing all that America's capitol has to offer. Lincoln memorial – huge. White house – little. Who would have thought? I have also really enjoyed spending the past few days hanging out with my Dad who has come to see me off.. Parent bonding and memory making.
Now I am at launch learning all that comes along with being a treasurer.
It's been so great reuniting with all of my squad and teammates. Makes it feel just like yesterday was training camp. Comparing 'how much does your bag weigh?' and 'how many nail polishes did you bring?' Yes it came up, and yes apparently that is important 🙂
We also had an addition to our team. One of the teams dissolved into other teams to make my team a wonderful number 7. Welcome Christine! We were told from day one, be flexible.
Flexi-dapt-ability = the world race.
I must remember this important saying past on to me recently. And now I am about to enter a 48 hour screen free time. No computer. No iPhone. All to prepare us for a 3am departure time to Honduras on Friday morning. There we found out we will be working together with the whole squad for the month. Exciting things are happening around every corner!
