Finally have some news worth sharing!

As you might have imagined, I will be breathing in the Canadian air for the next little while. I have met with my gallbladder surgeon this past week and he was a pleasant man, as well as quite punctual. Didn't even have to wait longer than 5 minutes to see him – a Canadian healthcare victory! I am looking at a date in the next 4-6 weeks to have the little bile maker removed and I will need to wait 4 weeks after the surgery to fly. I also have an appointment on May 1st with a Urologist to discuss the polyp in my bladder. I originally had that appointment on April 11th but now one called to let me know… well, if I’ve learned anything it’s that there is a good reason for it!

In the mean time I will be taking the role of nurse to my Dad who is going in for knee surgery on Tuesday. I will be able to pass on all mobility and crutches skills I know as well as physio form. I will be adding it to the list of reasons why God sent me on a pit stop home. After he is settled, I will be headed back to the hometown of Chatham to help with running my Aunt's market. She also is awaiting a major throat surgery. Don't worry I haven't put my pen down, I will add it to the list of reasons smiley

It's been a few weeks of coming to terms with the fact that I will not be rejoining my team but also having trust in the present and future God has for me. And looking at the present list of reasons, I’m feeling pretty good about it! Adding to the blessed list (I am normally not a list maker…but hey, it’s workin!), I will not have to any additional fundraising for the months I was on the race. Halleluiah! I will just need to finish fundraising what I already have outstanding (approx. $1500) and for my flights to training camp and launch. I am hoping for a September route but asking God to open and close doors and if He wants me to wait until January then that will be awesome too.

So here’s to praying for all the surgeries to come (apparently it’s the thing to do…), polyp disappearing act, and continued comfort and trust in all that is to come!
