Hey all,
I’ve been collecting as much Christmas as I’ve been able to the last month or so, knowing that this year will be odd for a number of reasons (not with friends, family, or friends’ family; in a country that doesn’t really celebrate Christmas; it’s hot- but I’m from Florida so you’d think I’d be used to that by now). I wanted to share a few memories I’ve collected thus far:
Well, it all started at my Nairobian benefactress’s house where she invited the girls and I out for goodies, and prayer, and a fire, and hot showers…
Then, our O-Squard family Christmas party:
Including White Elephant gift exchange, with Angela showing off the BEST white elephant gift ever of the Kelly Family t-shirt:
A nativity scene found it’s way to me in honor of Aunt Janet and Aunt Martha (thank you Jesus!):
More Africa Christmas:
Christmas is a time to bring people together, even Darth Vadar and Luke are friends:
Then we got to Thailand and had a party with the students of Chiang Mai University:
Then my team girls found this Christmas tree at the mall and took a picture (I think at this point I was going a little ‘Christmas’ trigger happy, but that’s okay):
So, the point of all of this and what I am trying to say is:
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers around this time of year. I think we are all missing home a little more than usual right now. If you are curious about our Christmas plans, here you go (for being away from home I feel SUPER blessed):
Christmas Eve (tomorrow):
Go on Elephant tour (super cheap), we get to ride elephants and go on bamboo rafts and play in a waterfall.
Then we have a dinner with the guys at the Kafe. My Christmas playlist is ready.
Christmas Day:
Wake up late and stay in pajamas. Make cinnamon rolls (hopefully) and at the least, pancakes.
Watch LITTLE WOMEN with Angela and team girls (I’ve been looking forward to it all year). (And my mom is going to watch it in America too!)
Swap presents as we did a secret santa between team girls!
Pretty much it will be a Christmas miracle of some sort or another.
I am praying for you that this Christmas you know Jesus’ love even stronger and sweeter than you currently do. That is my prayer for myself too. That my knowledge of His love for me would be even greater.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
