Where to begin…?
Oh, Nicaragua. I couldn’t have known I would fall for you. You took me by surprise. I love you, and I will miss you and your beautiful mountains. What I will miss more, however, are your people. How sweet and precious they are to me. I know they said leaving was hard, and I believed them. But nothing could have prepared me for this goodbye.
I have seen God work in your dry and hot land. I have held the hand of your sick, of your lonely, of the smiling child. I have laughed and talked and cried more than I knew possible. I’ve climbed your mountains and slid down them. I’ve had my breath taken away by your winds. I’ve taken in the beauty of your land in the back of a truck with 15-30 other people at a time. I have had the privilege to boldly proclaimed your Creator’s wondrous love.
Oh what a heartache you were, Nicaragua…but oh what a blessing you are. I will dearly miss your majestic mountains and your cool, clear night sky full of stars. I will miss the smiles and the faces and the hearts of your people.
I am a different person than when I first met you. I am bolder; I am more confident in who I am as a person and as a daughter of the King. I have written more poems in one month than I did all last year. You and your people inspire me, Nicaragua.
I have seen the Holy Spirit at work. I have been a part of something greater than myself. I witnessed 120 souls walk in new freedom in Christ in one month. I’ve learned more of a once foreign language. I have fallen in love with you, Nicaragua. You have forever left an impression on my heart. I am grateful to have left my hand print in yours.
Much Love,
Carolyn

Please continue to pray for Vision Nicaragua. They are a fantastic ministry and are doing God’s work here. I am privileged to have been a part of it.

We leave at 4:45 a.m. for Honduras (3/4/16), so I am asking that you keep us in your prayers! It’s not exactly known for being the safest country, so I also ask for prayer for our safety for the next month. Pray for my squad as we break up into teams again and spread across the country. Pray for those we interact with that they will see Jesus!
I also wanted to let you all know that this has only been made possible because of your support. Because of your faithful obedience, you have touched these people through me. Although I may be the one physically here, YOU are the ones who have made it more than just a dream. You have made it reality. And I thank God for you and the work He is doing through you.
We’re in the homestretch of the financial support needed, with only $2,632 more to be fully funded. I ask for continued support until fully funded, and also for continued prayer throughout the year.
Thank you again for all your support!!!! Dios te bendiga!! (God bless you!!)
