“Our Great God”
By: Todd Agnew

Eternal God unchanging
Mysterious and unknown
Your boundless love unfailing
In grace and mercy shown

Bright seraphim in ceaseless flight
Around Your glorious throne
They raise their voices day and night
In praise to You alone

Hallelujah, glory be to our great God
Hallelujah, glory be to our great God

Above are the first few verses of a song on one of my favorite worship playlists. Over and over again God has revealed his omnipotence to me. Fundraising has been one of the biggest ways I have been stretched … in an instagram post I shared that it is difficult for me to be in a place of dependence and a song that I really enjoy is “Independent” by Lil Weebie. For me, being in a place of dependence is scary — it feels needy, like I am a drag to others around me. I even felt this way a few days ago when I was struggling with a lot of congestion and my teammates were doting over me trying to help me find a comfortable way to sleep so I could still have my head elevated. In confessing my discomfort to them at needing help, they assured me that it was something they wanted to do because they love me. Wow. I believe that is a picture of God’s love and a lesson He wants all of us to learn.

So …

I have a HUGE praise to share with you: I am fully funded!! I am in utter awe of the abundance of God’s love for me and the way He has grown my faith in this fundraising process. Prior to leaving, at some point in December, I specifically prayed that I would be fully funded by February. There were times when I felt like I should post an update asking for more support, but didn’t feel quite right about it. Then, to be honest, once the squad met together at launch it sort of slipped my mind.

Maybe 5 days ago I realized it was pretty close to February and felt led to pray again for the Lord to provide all the funds by the beginning of the month. I wasn’t sure how it was going to happen, other than I knew it was in the Lord’s hands and He really doesn’t need me to do anything – He graciously invites me to partner with Him. (A lesson we learned at our Sunday Community meeting while studying Matthew 14:14-21 as He asked the disciples to partner with him in feeding the 5,000).

The next time we had wifi, a new donation came through. Then I opened up the letters friends/family wrote at the going away party and found another donation! How incredible. After receiving those two donations I gave thanks and asked the Lord for $225 before the end of the week — the amount I would need including the monthly donations to become fully funded. BUT GOD being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us (Ephesians 2:4) answered my prayer and then some. As if he was saying, “Is that all you’ve got for me Caroline? Watch me do abundantly more than you could ask or imagine!” (Ephesians 3:20-21) A final donation came in with the exact amount I needed to be fully funded!

WOW!! Go God! He IS so good. He is abundant, He is merciful. He is revealing himself to my team through the indescribable love of the people, through His power, through His protection against the darkness around us. I am in awe.

I am so thankful to all of you who are following along — sending encouraging words, praying on my behalf and the behalf of my team, supporting financially, and simply asking how I am doing. Your love is going out to the nations! I would love to be praying for you specifically throughout the year as well! If you have any specific prayer requests or praises please share them with me. I can receive iMessages when I am on Wifi as well as messages through WhatsAPP (using my same American number!).

Love and hugs.
Caroline
