after a long journey up a mountain and many many stairs that were more or less balance beams, some squamates and I reached “floating temples”.
layers and layers of green mountains, beautiful skies, and intricately made temples all made for a breathtaking view.
As I sat at the very top temple, I listened to lyrics that sang
“We can run straight into Your arms, unafraid
‘Cause every time we meet You, we’re met by love
And we can lift our hands to Heaven, full of faith
‘Cause every time we worship, we see Your face”
I became so overwhelmingly thankful for the access we have to our Maker, our Heavenly Father. He meets us where we are, every single time. Jesus died and the veil was TORN. Emmanuel, God WITH us. God came to earth and the Holy Spirit came INTO us. No offerings necessary, no idols, no non-responisve worship. Instead, we can look at Him, hear from Him, and feel Him right next to us. we can receive the fullness of God if we choose to. I am so thankful to worship a God compassionate enough and loving enough to meet us all exactly where we are. We can look into the face of a living, breathing God and be met with a love so overwhelming it doesn’t even make sense. We are so undeserving, yet his grace and his great love says that we are precious and pleasing to him.
I asked God to show me something so that I could know that he was hearing my prayers and was seeing me exactly where I am, sitting by a pagoda on the tip of a mountain, seeming ever so small. Soon enough he puts a rainbow in the sky to remind me of His promises: that he’s still working in this place! the day will still come where every tongue and every tribe will worship our father! the battle is still being fought, but He already has the victory!
I’m learning patience in this season. planting seeds and trusting He will grow the fruit. preparing the soil and believing he will do the work. showing the love of the father even when people dont know thats who’s love it is. being the light we’re called to be. fighting the battle as we wait for the day to come. taking big leaps some days, but baby steps most days.
Praises to our God! There is none like him! there is no other!
