This is going to be a short blog – but I wanted to send out some quick encouragement!
The last few days I’ve felt discouraged. Now, I don’t want this blog to be one of me complaining – but in short, I’ve felt discouraged about fundraising. I still have right around $5,000 to raise in order to be fully funded. My hopes and dreams were to be fully funded before I launch. That way it’s not something I have to worry about while I’m on the field.
The last few months (March – June) God has insanely provided for me. I’ve met and passed every deadline I’ve come to so far. I’ve even already passed my September goal. It’s been such a blessing.
Then, all of the sudden it felt like the donations stopped coming in. Even though I’m SO incredibly thankful for all the donations I’ve already received, I couldn’t help but feel discouraged. I know this is a direct attack from Satan himself.
I was talking to a squadmate of mine about how I was feeling down. Then no joke, while I was texting her “Every Little Thing” by Hillsong Young & Free came on. And WOW did the lyrics encourage me.
The lyrics “my dreams are small compared to yours“ stuck out to me. What a thought! All my dreams, my BIGGEST, most aspirational dreams are small in comparison to what God has in store for me. That’s crazy if you actually think about it. (Hint: this is me encouraging you to actually think about it)
The song goes on to say “Why should I worry about tomorrow when I know that all I gotta do is trust You Lord.” I mean wow! You’ve gotta love it when God speaks to you through spotify. I don’t need to worry about fundraising or ANYTHING because God is in control. He holds my future, He knows whats in store for me and He has better plans for me anyway! No amount of worrying will change that.
“Why would I dwell upon the road’s uncertainties when all I gotta do is look to You.” SO GOOD! Why should I spend the next 11 days before I leave worrying about the uncertainties of fundraising? I’ve already met my next deadline and I have 4 months to raise the last little bit! The enemy wanted me to waste my last days at home worrying and doubting, BUT God graciously spoke to me through a spotify song and I’m thankful for that. I could literally write something about every single line in this song – but I won’t. I’m going to stop myself here. You’re welcome.

1. Egg-streme fundraiser. It’s pretty simple.
In honor of my upcoming 22nd birthday, being 11 days out from launch, and the world race (#11n11) – I’m doing an EGGstreme fundraiser!
How it works?
– for every $11 donated, I will crack 1 egg on my head (or have special guests do the cracking!)
– for every $22 donated, I will take 1 whip cream pie to the face
– this fundraiser runs now until August 1
– I will be sharing a video of this mess on my birthday, August 2nd!
AND HEY! If you guys can manage to buy 454 eggs or 227 whip cream pies, I’d be fully funded
