It’s been odd here in South America. In Bolivia, because we were camping, when the sun went down so did we. But here in Peru, Dinner isn’t until 7 or 8 and we get surprised sometimes by evening activities that end up putting us into bed at somewhere around 11:30pm.
I went for a run this morning for the first time in a long time. Blowing the metaphorical dust off my old running playlist felt good. And I couldn’t think of a better way to spend the rainy morning in the park.
I have been blessed in this location here in Huánuco. We have a little house to call our own and our ministry is very diverse each day. Below is a journal entry from 11/4 that I wanted to share.
This blessed morning I have found myself sitting on a cool tile floor. We are working in a think tank to prepare the churches here (3 of them) for a peace march against the government corruption. We also have been given a deadline to start and finish a promotional video and we have to complete a couple banners too. I never expected something like this on a missionary journey, but with the violence in the leadership described to us by our contact, I am excited to help with this.
I actually prefer the variety of things we will end up doing this year. Each activity seems to be hand-picked for our team. You see one of our ladies used to work in a movie production studio, so doing a promo video is actually her forte. All this is to say, that as much as I want to do laundry, organize my stuff, get my computer fixed, and xyz, I know that I thank God to be on this think tank tile floor. PRAISE HIM!
Don’t forget the Give Me One Dollar Campaign and to let me know which boxes from 1-100 you want to block out, that way I can get you into the raffle for the handmade good from Peru/Ecuador.
