What does it truly mean to have the faith of a mustard seed?  And does that differ from hope?

I have just finished “10 Hours to Live”, a book on God’s healing by Brian Wills.  And I have been listening to the podcasts from New Philadelphia Church’s retreat weekend.  (New Philly was my church in South Korea and they gave me so much breakthrough in my struggles there.)  Needless to say, I have quite an opinion now about what faith and hope truly are.

Truth, God’s truth is from the bible.  Pick a truth, any truth.  Perhaps it’s the truth that “By His stripes you are healed.”~(Isaiah 53:5)  Perhaps it is “Surely goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life.”~(Psalm 23:6)  Perhaps it is, “Nothing can separate you from the love of God.”~(Romans 8:38-39)  Perhaps it is, “You will do even greater things than these.”~(John 14:12)

Now, truth is a mystery.  It is a mystery because it seems to counter reality.  The real world/physical world calls this truth a lie.  How can we already be healed at the cross, when I am sick now?  How can goodness follow me when bad things keep happening?  How can God love me if I have done x-y-z? How can I do greater things than Jesus when I lack and fail so much?

It doesn’t seem true BUT even while dealing with reality (like going to the doctor) we need to seize the truth (we are healed).  Steward that mystery; confess true what doesn’t seem true.  And know that it is true NOW!  That’s the difference between faith and hope.  Faith is now and hope is for later. Possess the truth now!

If you steward truth is becomes revelation!  That internal struggle dissipates and begins to make sense in your spirit even if it doesn’t in the natural.  And if you steward that revelation it will become manifestation!  THINGS WILL CHANGE IN THE PHYSICAL!

Too many Christians abort the word/truth in the place of mystery because they don’t KNOW that it is true!  Mustard-seed faith has to be planted!  It is so small to start with but with the right atmosphere it GROWS to be large!  This takes time and you have to set the right conditions for growth (meditation on the word, an attitude of praise, positive mindset, speaking it out~there’s power in the tongue), and then see your faith grow to move mountains!

I write this because I am ready to no longer struggle with a spirit of lack, and with the expectation of disappointment.  My truth is, “God gives life and life abundant.”(John 10:10)  And I will steward this truth until it manifests!  What is your truth?
