Yeah…that was just a play on words and you will find out it’s context later 🙂

Last week was a week of firsts for me; it was the first week
of my CGA apprenticeship in the Kingdom Dreams department as the Project
Searchlight Coordinator, as well as my first week getting to be behind the
scenes during a searchlight (B-squad’s searchlight).

What Is Kingdom Dreams?

“We help you
discover and clarify what your dream is, so that you can take the next steps
towards realizing it.

Realizing a dream
isn’t easy.

That’s why we want
to help. Our network and resources will help you take the vision you’ve been
given and act.

The good news is, we
don’t have to have it all figured out right away.  You are going to have lots of dreams in your
lifetime.  While you might have an
overarching “calling”, you’ll also have seasonal dreams.  What’s important is that you start moving
towards one, right now.

There is a world
waiting – groaning, in fact – for the dreamers to be made known, for the
children of God to step into their inheritance and bring redemption to the
earth.

This is our dream.
This is our vision.”

Being part of the Kingdom Dreams department is in itself a Kingdom
dream come true. In the process of trying to discover my passion I spent time
letting others tell me about their passions, and realized my passion. I am
passionate about helping others to mobilize their dreams. I am passionate about
encouraging people that steps towards starting an orphanage, being a teacher,
youth leader or missionary in Uganda are all possible and the process to get
there can happen today. I break for people who are overwhelmed by too many
choices or possibilities and in Kingdom Dreams I get to be part of a team helping
others get beyond just thinking of what they could do, and help propel them
into the pursuit of their dreams.

I have become fired up over a word. A word that spurred a
thought, that spiraled into a belief that became a passion and way of
explaining the desire I have for my generation.

Last week during one of my CGA sessions we were talking
about what made a good story and during the discussion I noticed my list was
made up of all verbs, that’s it! That is the word that started to stir in me, “verbs”,
which is what my generation so often hesitates in. In world with so much
information available at 4G speed, we are often hesitant to make a choice.
Hesitant to move in a certain direction in fear it might be the wrong one, so
we wait. If we want to be the hands and feet of our Father we MUST MOVE. I
think back to the phrase “dare you to move”, lyrics from a Switfoot song, and
how it propelled me prior to leaving for the World Race, it still resonates with
me. I want to be a part of a generation that does not simply sit on our ideas
and wait in fear of failure. I want to be a nation that moves out of excitement
to be able to make a difference and the knowledge that success has the odds
stacked against it when there is no attempt to obtain it.  I want the body of believers from my generation
to be a generation of verbs moving towards obtaining character and momentum for
the Kingdom.

Stay tuned, it looks as though this adventure is going to be
fruitful.

“It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be
a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like
eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary,
decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.” – C.S. Lewis”

Insert a rant of quotes about taking action:

“Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious
triumphs, even though checkered by failure… than to rank with those poor
spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight
that knows not victory nor defeat. “

     – Theodore
Roosevelt

“Action may not always bring happiness; but there is no
happiness without action.”

     – Benjamin
Disraeli

“The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do
evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.”

     – Albert Einstein

“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence
and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it.
Go out and get busy. “

     – Dale Carnegie

“There are costs and risks to a program of action, but they
are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction.”

     – John F. Kennedy
