This month my team and I have been spending a lot of time in Manila, Philippines, searching high and low for new ministries AIM and The World Race could partner with in the future.  This month is called Unsung Heroes.  Our job is to meet with these ministries and get a feel for what they do and how they are building the Kingdom.  One of the ministries we met with this month is Compassion International.

Compassion International is a huge ministry that is most known for their sponsorship programs throughout the world.  Compassion may come to your church or conference with hundreds of adorable pictures with children who looking for sponsors so they may afford education, uniforms, and school supplies.  Getting to see and understand the heart behind Compassion International Philippines was an awesome experience.

Here in the Philippines, Compassion provides sponsorship through partnership churches all around the country.  They look for children ages 0-22 in need of assistance in both rural and urban areas.  They provide child development centers through churches and provide holistic services, such as feedings, health check-ups, education, career guidance, and evangelical teachings.  In October and May, Compassion provides a Leadership Development Program for the Filipino youth.  Their goal is to inspire students to dream big and be leaders in their own communities.

Seeing their heart and passion for the Philippines was an honor.  They encourage and inspire us to take the lessons we have learned on the Race and share them with our own communities at home.

Compassion International is a big ministry, impacting and inspiring youth all around the world.  I was blessed to have met them.
