Hello!  I hope every thing is going well with you and your family.  I can’t believe how fast the past 4 years have flown by.  I have grown and learned so much during my time at the University of Arkansas and could not have asked for a better college experience. Since accepting my Communications Degree in May, I am now ready to move on to the next stage of my life.

Through much prayer and conversation with my family and friends, I have decided to take part in a yearlong mission trip through the organization, Adventures In Missions (AIM) beginning January 2014.  The specific mission program of AIM that has accepted me is called the World Race (WR).  The World Race is a mission trip where my team and I travel to 11 countries in 11 months serving with a team of about 40-50 other missionaries. I will be ministering in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

My desire to go on this trip grew more and more as I watched the videos and read the blogs on the website, worldrace.org. Watching and reading the stories the racers shared really struck a chord with me.  They travel to the slums and the extremely poor villages throughout the world to minister and serve the least of these.  My mission will be so much more than just traveling the world and doing a little bit of service work in each country.  It’s befriending a young prostitute in the red-light district of Thailand who was sold into slavery, but still has dreams of becoming a nurse, a teacher, or a businesswoman.  It’s loving and playing with the orphan in Nicaragua whose parents are in jail and can’t afford to take care of him.  It’s cuddling the child in Africa dying of aids, or laughing with the child who was rescued from the mutilating act of child sacrifice.  This trip is less about me and what I can do, but more about what God and his love for these people who are living in brokenness can do.

Knowing how blessed I am here in America; I knew that it was time for me to go.  It was time for me to leave the comfort of my Texas home and set out on this adventure that God has prepared for me. If you feel lead please consider joining me by contributing to my race.  First, I ask for constant prayer now and while I am on the trip.  I know that this trip will be extremely difficult most of the time, and I need all the prayer support I can get. Second, for those of you who feel compelled I ask for your support financially.  I know that God will provide all I need, but raising $15,500 for this trip is a little daunting.  This amount covers meals, lodging, air, land, and sea travel, administrative costs, set-up costs, coaching costs, debriefing costs, and training camp costs for an entire year!  You can support me financially as a one-time gift or a monthly donation.  If 50 people pledge to donate $25 monthly from now until July 2014, I will be fully funded!

Enclosed is a response card welcoming you to share this journey with me.  The response card will enable Adventures In Missions to send a tax-deductible receipt of your donation.  Checks can be made out to Adventures in Missions and mailed with the response card to this address:
