Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses. – Joshua 1:3
I’ve walked a lot of places this past year, and every place I’ve stepped into, I’ve had the opportunity to bring light. Every single step. Every single room. Every single life.
I’ve been in Isaiah 58 recently and verse 8-9 says, “Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.” Illumination. Jesus said that we are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. God intended Israel to be a light in darkness to other nations, glorifying the God of creation by their actions and by the blessings of God apparent on their lives, thus drawing others to God. Just like in our lives as children of God, our light will break forth and be apparent to others- much like the glow on the face of Moses when he descended the mountain after spending time with God.
This video shows just a little bit of the land I’ve walked in the past couple months. I love hiking and exploring God’s creation.
Psalm 33:6-9 says, “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host. He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; he puts the deeps in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him! For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.”
Hiking mountains and going on adventures allows me to see just how big God is. It’s truly humbling.
The last part of the video is a lot of videos of our squad worshiping as well as different people we’ve been in ministry with, not to make us the focus, but to show all the different places we’ve gotten to worship, where we’ve gotten to shine the light.
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship – Romans 12:1
We are the worship– giving of ourselves.
I think that’s what I love about nature. Their whole being goes to the glory of God. From the singing of the birds in the morning singing God’s praises to the different seasons reflecting the seasons of life God has given us to walk through and embrace.
He is faithful and we owe Him everything, our very selves. One thing I have realized on the race is that my life is not my own. Literally, the only thing I have control over is my attitude and my actions. And I choose to worship Him with my being, with every step I take, to believe in and hope for those promises He’s given. (For the most part)
His Kingdom is all that we affect, it’s within us, it’s anywhere God is. And God is in us. We bring the Kingdom everywhere we go. I pray that as you watch this video, you think of all the places God has taken you and is taking you and how you are bringing the light of the kingdom every place you step your feet, and how many places you get to worship the God who made Machu Picchu and the Salt Flats, as well as the people you get to worship with.
This Easter, as I walked Machu Picchu and sat on top of it, I was reminded of just how big God is and how we are the living sacrifices, with our very lives.
