Before we get in to the meat of this blog I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers!! The Lord does provide in mighty ways and I was able to reach my first real financial deadline of $9,000! Our next deadline is the 100% mark ($12,487.50) this deadline is set for August 18… which means payments should be really sent in before the 13th of August!! Thank you again and I pray this blog finds you well.
In a recent conversation I was having about the World Race, I was asked the hardest question…
“Well…What is your mission?”
I was speechless, I had never thought about that.. So here it is the thought process about what my mission is.
My mission in the next two months:
- Enjoy my time serving in Puerto Rico, with Disciples Unlimited (my youth group)!
- Meet my fantastic squad members at training camp!
- Help my best friend move to Colorado!
- And live a life according to Christ.
Now as easy as this seems it’s not we all know that sometimes we get swept up in the day to day happenings of this world, so my hope is this that I will live according to the words of Romans 12:2
“DO NOT CONFORM TO THE PATTERN OF THIS WORLD, BUT BE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND. THEN YOU WILL BE ABLE TO TEST AND APPROVE WHAT GOD’S WILL IS–HIS GOOD, PLEASING AND PERFECT WILL.”
My mission for the next 11 months of my life:
If in the next 11 months our squad has just one person confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior; My mission will be complete.
My hope is that we will be able to see men, women and children all impacted in some way; even if it is just the slightest smile. My mission will be complete.
“I will not change the world, Jesus will do that. But I can change the world for one person. So I will keep loving one person at a time.”
-Katie Davis
But see here is the thing as much as I hate to admit it the mission field is right here in your home town, because we are BROKEN and until we come up under what God has called us all to do we cannot say “Mission complete!” The fact of the matter is this YOU were put on this earth for a reason, you may be the undeniable lover of all things (broken, fixed, pure, evil, loved and unloved), you may be the hard-worker who will effortless fight for something until it is completed, you may be the impeccable listener, you may be the entertainer, the funny one, the talkative one, the strong one, the talented one, or you may feel just ordinary (don’t be mistaken you are far from ordinary)… So here’s my vision and my mission for you…
Do NOT abandon the person you are but rather become the best version of yourself! Fight for others, listen to others, love others and speak to others. You never know you may be the only sign of Christ like love a person has seen and YOU may just CHANGE THE WORLD for one person!
I DARE YOU
and in the words of my friends
“NO DARE LEFT UNDONE!”
