An excerpt from my journal.
10/1/12 Day 92 of the race
(I feel it in my spirit, this is my month, my month to thrive in JESUS name. Malaysia is a closed country which also brings an interesting aspect. I don't believe we can blog much, and we can't talk openly about the Gospel. This excites me even more because we take risks for the Gospel sake, and we come alive even more because of it. Praise JESUS! I believe I will be healed in this city though movings of the Holy Spirit and I am ready to embrace that. Being here reminds me of why I love this (missions) in the first place. I got to leave some jeans and a couple shirts next to a homeless man sleeping on the roadside tonight. It felt so good. My heart is with the destitute, the sinner, the homeless. I pray I get a chance to Love better here than in India on the unbelievers, and that the JESUS in me rises to the occasion. I am ready LORD, use me.)
This was the day I found myself on a bus riding into Malaysia. As I looked out the window at the newness of the country I could feel the atmosphere shift. GOD began to immediately speak to me about this being a Nation that was ready for the harvest, but I had no clue the magnitude to which that would ring true. When I found out the religious and political state of Malaysia ( which i explained in part 1 of this blog) it all made more sense to why I felt so connected to the country.
See I have always felt especially called to the persecuted church, and I knew GOD would send me to places in my life where it was especially hard for the Gospel to spread. I have dreamed about it, studied it, and last month was the time for me to begin to walk in it. To live out my statements I made of being unashamed and unafraid to share the Gospel, no matter what the cost.
We began the month in a small town, living with a pastor at his church. During this time we fellowshipped with about 6 of wisest, most loving and caring pastors I had ever met. We found ourselves at their pastors fellowship one Saturday. I was amazed. It was there I met an older man with kind eyes, and a big smile. He told me he had worked for the government of Malaysia for over 30 years, and was now retired. He was committed to being an insider for the believers and pastors to view the government and learn how to get around some of the laws. Yes, GOD was definitely using his profession for His glory. That day we worshipped, and it was so pure. I also watched as the pastors prayed passionately and fervently over their nation and its redemption through Christ, it brought me to tears.
The second half of the month I found myself in the jungle once again. I cannot give a ton of detail about the nature of our work out there, but it was life changing. Absolutely life changing. We helped to build a structure that will be used as a haven for illegal believers. We also spent our weekends doing evangelism to the unreached population. The married couple we ministered with are 2 of the most influential, and GODly people I have ever met. I mean they truly live the Gospel, and they accept the sovereign will of GOD without hesitation or fear. They did not fear the repercussions of the government for they realize their home is not on earth, but built in Heaven, and JESUS is the final authority of their lives. I was blown away by their walks, and I learned more from them in 2 weeks than I have in years alone.
The last week I found myself in an office, editing sermons to be translated into another language for the new believers there. A lot of us fail to realize that there are people groups that still don't have the WORD of GOD translated in their language. We take for granted the ability to walk into any book store and purchase a bible. We are blessed with that right, and here we were, translating it in secret for people who don't have that right.
The whole month was amazing. I am absolutely humbled that GOD would allow me to be a part of such a revolution in such a time as this.
I am sorry there is not a ton of detail in this blog, I want to protect the people who are working so hard in Malaysia so that the captives may be set free. I do however encourage you, since you are reading this to get up and do something about your Faith. Do not let it be all words and no action. There is such a need all over the world for young, fearless, strong believers to rise up and be a part of the great commission.
May the Glorious name of JESUS Christ be lifted up forever, and ever Amen.
