So before heading to Malawi, I was praying that the Lord would give me more opportunities to speak in front of churches or really just more opportunities to proclaim his name before others.
I’ll be real with you, it’s something for me that intimidates me, and something that I most definitely get nervous doing.
And if you haven’t realized this yet.. the Lord has a sense of humor.
So we get to Malawi, and we get to our ministry hosts home in a muddy, African subdivision of sorts. Area 25 is what they call it, and our ministry host Blessing sits my team down and tells us what he wants us to do in Malawi for the two months.
He tells us that we will be preaching every single Sunday at church, teaching at an elementary school, leading bible studies, and preaching in a salon and other engagements.
When he told us all this, I was scared. I didn’t think I was capable enough to be able to do all this.
I didn’t think I had the capabilities as a teacher or a preacher for that matter for weekly meetings and services.
But that’s exactly what I ended up doing in Malawi
we taught
we preached
we did all the things..
And in that The Lord totally wrecked me, and he taught me so much in those 2 months in Malawi Africa. You
HE taught me to rely on him for strength
HE taught me to give up my pride and let his spirit come in and speak.
HE taught me that without him, I totally sucK.
HE taught me that he doesn’t call the qualified he qualifies the called.
There were a few few times where I would try to speak in my own power and my own will, and I completely failed. It wasn’t until I completely humbled myself and spoke the words the Lord was giving me was when I actually had an impact.
I’ve learned that:
When God Calls, He also Equips.
When God Calls, He Enables.
When God Calls, He Provides.
He will not call us and then abandon us to figure things out in our own strength. Whatever God requires, He will provide for. When God calls us to do something, we need not fear – God will always provide the skills, ability, direction and resources we need to carry out His will.
You just need to call out to him
Love y’all,
Carly Roselle
