Dear Friends and family,

First of all…. Happy New year! It’s 2017, which means the start of something new, and maybe for you… it’s a fresh start! Filled with endless possibilities and adventures! Well that’s sort of why I’m writing to you today, I’m sharing with you my upcoming adventure that God has placed on my heart!

I was recently accepted to go on an 9-month mission trip called the World Race Gap Year. The World Race is part of Adventures in Missions, an interdenominational mission’s organization that has sent over 100,000 people into the mission field since 1989. The World Race is one of their trips, specifically for young adults (18-22 year olds) to travel to 5 countries in 9 months. I will be leaving in September of 2017 to travel to China, Mongolia, Zambia, Malawi, and Ecuador. Then returning early June of 2018.

While in each of these countries, my team and I will be partnering with local churches and ministries to serve in areas of need. I am just so thankful and excited for this opportunity! God has placed it on my heart to fulfill the Great Commission – to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). I just want to live my life to serve and honor God. I believe he has given us all very unique gifts to further his kingdom, and this trip I feel is apart of that call. I want to clothe the naked, feed the hungry, and provide the poor wanderer with shelter.

On the World Race, I will be living this way. All my possessions will be contained in a backpack for 9 months. (I will look very similar to how I am looking in the above picture) I will be living in raw, authentic community. In each country we will be preaching the gospel, praying for the sick, and spending time with people who don’t have hope. And I cannot wait. I can’t wait to share the grace and love of Jesus with people who need it most.

So here’s where you come in. There are two goals I need to accomplish as I prepare for this trip and I need YOU!

The first goal is to create a prayer support team. In Paul’s letters to different churches in the New Testament, he often asked them to pray for his mission. Prayer is vital to this trip and to the fulfillment of the calling God has placed on me. If you would like to partner with me prayerfully, please send me an email ([email protected]) and I will send you prayer update emails throughout my time on the World Race.

The second part of my preparation is fundraising. The total cost of the trip is $14,951 – which includes the costs of training, travel, lodging, food, and other necessities while being gone for 9 months. That amount of money is honestly overwhelming to me, but I know that the God who called me to this is faithful to provide. I have seen God perform miracles in the area of finances and I’m confident that if God is asking you to give, he will provide for all of your needs as well. While you may not be traveling to a distant country, you are still doing something very significant by enabling me to walk out my call, and allowing the gospel to be spread. By supporting this mission, you are a part of God’s Kingdom work! I know that God wants to bless me through this trip and he wants to bless you too.

I am praying that God would place on your heart the best way for you to support me. I am so excited to see how God will work and be glorified in this process.

For me this is a dream come true to be able to be a missionary! Ever since I was young I’ve always envisioned of one day becoming a Nurse missionary, to be able to heal the sick (Through God’s help), and to be able to tell them the good news of Jesus has always been what I’ve felt led to do. (Side Note:) This coming semester in college I validate for Nursing school! But it takes a year for me to get into my Nursing program… so to make it short I technically have a year off! So God brought this amazing opportunity on me I believe at the perfect time! And I couldn’t be more excited about it! If you have any more questions, feel free to contact me either by email ([email protected]) or through Facebook or my cell phone(989-798-2175)

Thank you, and God bless!
