We made it to Colombia!! We arrived last week and have already had the opportunity to be apart of a variety of ministries! We are working with a ministry in Medellin, we are serving the homeless, people struggling with addiction, children, and helping this ministry reach the community that they are in.

Colombia is absolutely beautiful. I am not a city girl, but this city has already become special to me.

Our rooftop view!

On Saturday night, during the homeless church service one of our squad members gave the message and in it she talked about how at one point she thought about ending her life. At the end of the service Pastor Harry asked that if anyone in the room felt like that, that they were at a point where ending their life seemed like the right option or good option that they would come up to the front of the room. About 4-5 guys went up and so the guys from our squad went up to pray for them. But then Pastor Harry said, “I feel like there is at least one more person” and a man and than a woman went up. Without hesitation, without even a thought, my body was moving, I was following her up to the front. I put my hands on her arms and just stood there praying for her quietly while the pastor prayed over everyone. At one point she grabbed my hand and just held it so tightly. At that point I was hugging her. The prayer ended and she thanked me. I then asked Pastor Harry to translate for me (because your girl don’t speak Spanish) because I knew I needed to speak truth into her life. He told me we were going to sing a song but he would translate after. But then she proceeded to turn around and leave. He stopped her. Thankfully. Because I knew I needed to say these things to her. I dont remember everything I told her but here’s what I do remember. I told her that she is loved. That she is valuable. That God wants her and that He is pursuing her and that all He wants is for Her to go to Him. That no matter what has been done to her, no matter what she has done. He still loves her. As I said these things tears were falling, hers and mine. My heart ached to just show her how much Christ loves her.
I don’t know what you are going through in your life, I don’t know if you believe in God or not but I am telling you exactly what I told her. You are LOVED. You have VALUE. Your life truly matters and the people around you love you. God loves you so much and He wants you, He is chasing after you. No matter what you have done, no matter what has been done to you, HE STILL LOVES YOU. He is the one and only one, who can forgive you of your sins and let you spend eternity in Heaven with Him.
John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
