Nepal is the most beautiful country I have ever seen; the
colors, the people, the landscapes — everything here is gorgeous.

I’m living on the outskirts of Kathmandu and this place
teems with people in a way that I have never seen before; thousands and
thousands of people walk these streets and things that have no right to be next
to each other blend together in inexplicable ways.

Temples that used to be sacred attract throngs of tourists and all of the trappings that that implies. So much faith and so little Jesus.

We flew into this country a few days ago as the sun was rising. The clouds were thick and swirling
between me and the ground, completely blocking my vision of the land. It reminded me of the verses in Genesis that
say that the Spirit of God hovered over the chaos, right before He created the
world.
In the same way that He was present before Earth even
existed, He is present in Nepal. His
presence is tangible here — it tangible through the stark contrasts I see
everyday on the streets.
He is here, because idolatry is empty.
He is here, because this is His land and these are His people and He is passionate for their souls — regardless of the idol worship and heavy chains of culture and religion.

Megh, my contact for the month, is a man of passion, of joy,
of deep, deep convictions for his countrymen and their idol worship. When I asked him what my team and I would be
doing this month, his face broke into a wide grin and he said, “We’re looting
Nepal.
I laughed that nervous laugh that a person does when they
have no idea how to interpret seemingly crazy information, but Megh just smiled
even wider.
“We’re looting Nepal for souls — we’re going to tell these
people the good news and open heaven for them.
The same clouds that reminded me of God’s presence during my descent into Nepal have been hovering the entire time I have been here. Pray for me and my team this month, that we can make clear God’s never-ending love and presence to the people who need it most in this beautiful country.
