OKay so this may same silly to most but I guess you’d have to know me pretty well to understand how this impacted me in a big way.
This last month was a bit on the rough side as far as uncomfortable moments, but hallelujah because God knows me the best and knows exactly how to refresh and renew me for the next month of ministry!

Debrief in Siem Reap was EXACTLY what I needed to recharge for the next month of ministry in Malaysia. In Siem Reap we were able to experience sleeping in a bed and waking up to warm shower and the option of walking to a coffee shop every morning. I LOVE the city and felt so alive as I had the freedom to explore a very beautiful city and interact with people from all over the world. We were able to spread kingdom through loving on our host as well as talking with people in the local area. I had a really awesome conversation with TukTuk driver named Vet.

Amongst loving the city and experiencing some pampering I was able to connect with the rest of my squad. Debrief is a time at the end of every ministry month where our entire squad meets back up to worship together and encourage one another and recharge to go back out. This debrief was wonderful because our coaches Joey and Gary joined us and imparted soo much wisdom and truth into our lives.
Several times throughout the week I felt overwhelmed by the fact that I get to be a part of this incredible family, it is such a HUGE honor to live and worship and serve with these amazing men and women. What an awesome privilege it is, I know I will cherish every one of these people in my life after The Race is over.
Di, Joni, My Coaches Joey and Gary:

Okay so all of these blessings and refreshment have been awesome but the greatest moment for me personally came on Sunday night at our all squad dinner. Our incredible logistic team got a great deal and reserved us an amazing dinner out for our whole squad. Everyone got dressed up and looked AMAZING! Here’s a pic of my family:
Here’s my team:

So…side note my 25th Birthday is December 1st which I cannot believe is only a few weeks away! On my birthday it is a tradition for me to eat my favorite dessert which is Tiramisu. So in the back of my mind I’ve been resigned to the fact that my bday will be in Malaysia, we have no idea what it’ll be like so probly no tiramisu…lol no big deal cuz it’s still going to be an AWESOME birthday!

Well….back to Squad Dinner, our menu was set and we’d just eaten an incredible salad and main course, and out comes dessert….it’s TIRAMISU!

Another side note…my favorite fruit is strawberry…Asia has NO strawberries…no big deal we have lots of other fruits to eat but my team and I had a running joke that I really really would pay like $15 for a strawberry if I ever saw one in the market b/c they literally do not grow here.

K back to squad dinner…what’s on TOP of the Tiramisu??? STRAWBERRIES……

Okay okay okay so to most people not a big deal…to me in that moment it literally felt like God was handing me a self wrapped gift with a little card on top addressed to me…in the card I think it would’ve said “Happy Birthday Carly, I love you so much and I want you to enjoy your tiramisu and strawberries (in Cambodia)”

So I realize this blog is really long and
slightly ridiculous 🙂 but I just had to share how much that small
insignificant moment impacted me. It reminded me that God cares about
the details of my life, He created me and EVERYTHING about me is special
to Him, He has such abundant blessings for me His DAUGHTER! The same is
true for you…whoever you are reading this…God LOVES YOU…He knows
EVERYTHING about you because He MADE You (In His likeness)!!! Anytime
you forget and feel alone and forgotten, just think of tiramisu and
strawberries because that’s all it took for me to remember how very much
God loves me!
