however sometimes
it’s nice to have a tangible project that after pouring yourself out you receive the blessing of seeing an immediate result
For example:
Today our teams had the amazing privilege of traveling to a nearby village church. ICM currently oversees 9 churches which house orphanages in the lower level of the church. These orphanages house 10-12 orphans from the surrounding area, giving them a bed to sleep in, meals every day, and provide schooling until they graduate- it truly is an incredible program!
(ICM: Church Children’s Homes)
The biggest need today was to help improve and renovate one of the Church Children’s Homes. This Church is home to 10 boys ages 10-13 and they are taken care of by the pastor and his wife who live with them and their own 3 children.
We were asked to paint a wall, however when they asked they had no idea how many gifts and talents the Lord had blessed our team with in the area of murals.
Chelsea and Sarah (same two amazing women from our Malaysia mural days way back in November) took the lead designing the mural, purchasing the materials, and delegating tasks for each of us once we arrived. Here’s the before picture of the home:
The theme was under the sea
After about 5 hours of painting and a delicious meal of chicken curry…
Here’s the final result:
A few close up shots:
Everyone on the team chipped in and worked together so well. It’s truly a miracle that we were able to paint the entire mural in one day, and have enough paint, and even that the paint dried quickly enough for us to paint several layers.
So even though many times we have not seen (yet) the fruits of the seeds we have been planting all over the world, today the Lord blessed us with this opportunity- to see a project from start to finish in one day due to His provision. The faces of the kids when they saw it were priceless, they were so happy and proud of their home!
