Joshua 3:5 “Joshua told the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do AMAZING things among you’.”
Isaiah 58:10 “..and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”
I would say both of these verses capture what my expectations are of this coming year….I expect that God will do AMAZING things among us. We are going to be experiencing spiritual oppression and darkness as many of us have never experienced before…I expect that we will see God’s power move in AWESOME ways.
I expect that through serving the needy and the hungry and the oppressed they will see and feel God’s love….that we will be His hands and feet as we are serving His people….We will be going into incredibly dark places and I expect that our teams will be a LIGHT that pierces the darkness in Jesus’ name. I expect myself and my teammates to shine His Light so bright that people have to wear sunglasses to look directly at us! 🙂
I expect to laugh at the memories that are sure to come from our crazy traveling adventures, I expect to be stretched and pushed to my limits, I expect to cry as my heart breaks, I expected to be changed from the inside out…I do not want to come back the same…..
How God will work specifically I have no clue…and no expectation….I just know He has called us to love the nations…and I’m so excited to see how He uses us to do that this year….
