Hey friends and family….just trying to be as open and honest with where I’m at right now. I’m pretty discouraged. Probably one of my least favorite things in all the world is asking people for money…right now it is a large part of my life as I raise awareness and support for this incredible mission. I realize it is necessary but that doesnt make it that much easier…please pray that as I continue to fundraise this summer that God’s blessings flow….I know God has called me to serve Him in this way and I BELIEVE He equips those He calls….so as a good friend reminded me this morning…I just need to relax and trust God ๐Ÿ™‚
As I was spending time with Jesus this morning…laying out my frustrations at fundraising and discouragement I was drawn to the book of Mark chapter 8. As I was reading I came across the story of Jesus feeding the thousands with only a few loaves of bread a few small fish…after this had happened I went on to read that the disciples forgot to bring bread with them as they continued in the boat with Jesus…Jesus rebukes them for still worrying about not having enough food to sustain them. He tells them “do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And dont you remember? When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand….do you still not understand?”
Wow….God really hit me hard with this because….I have seen Him show up in my past in incredible ways…He provided the funds I needed to go serve in China 3 years ago…He provided miraculous ways for me to pay for college over the last few years…many times I have wondered how I would pay my bills over this past year of substitute teaching and EVERY TIME He showed up and took care of me….who am I to doubt that He will not take care of me NOW in my time of need just as he did for the disciples and for the thousands he fed back then!?!?!
Thanks Lord for reminding me that you are and will continue to provide….thank you for calling me to this incredible journey….already my faith is being stretched!
This was my class “The Heroes” while I was teaching in China…we were getting ready to ride a HUGE stone slide down a mountainside ๐Ÿ™‚
We were very happy to find Pizza Hut…this is my good friend Anne and I celebrating a small taste of home when we needed it most ๐Ÿ™‚
