Mondays are house visit days. And this past Monday, God did something incredible.
Let me tell you about it.
So our first visit of the day we met these two single mothers, Rose and Proxita. Sitting in their small living room we strike up casual conversation. How long have they been in Bungoma? What are their childrens’ names? And the like. Then I start asking them about Jesus. They explain to us that they know about Jesus but arent saved. Rose goes on to say that her heart isnt ready because there have been no women around to encourage her in the faith. So I began to speak, saying whatever was put on my heart at the given moment, silently praying while our friend Ben translated for the Spirit to speak directly to their hearts. Let me tell you people, I had no idea what the heck I was doing. All I could do was trust the Spirit working in and through me. After I had finished speaking, Ben prompted me to ask if they would like to be saved, which I nervously did. And would ya believe it, they both said yes! They got on their knees as I lead them in prayer. Again, having no idea what I was doing but trusting in His grace that is so sufficient in my weakness. Praise God for the Spirit! And they rose as new creations. Daughters of the King of kings.
Miracle number one.
After the prayer I felt the Lord telling me to give Rose my pocket ESV Bible (now this Bible I’ve had since my freshman year of college and its been through a heck of a lot). So I asked her if she had one. No she didnt. Would she mind one in English? That would be okay. So I reached in my pocket and handed her mine, apologizing that it was so worn and for the underlining. She replied that this was a very important her day. Her face beaming. Because, for years she had been praying for a Bible. And now she had one.
Miracle number two.
In thirty minutes the Lord completely changed this woman’s life. And mine to. This woman had been waiting for encouragement, and then the Lord so divinely brings us together. Even in my weakness He used me. His grace is sufficient. His Spirit so faithful to work in and through us, even in ways so beyond our understanding. He’s too good to us. Allowing heaven to invade in our midst as the Spirit stirs in our hearts and we’re reminded that He is so near. His love for His children is so strong. Relentless. Reckless even. And now to more women get to experience that sweet love daily.
