It's amazing what will happen when you ask God a simple question and then give Him the time to answer it. I've been asking God for years, what is my purpose? I always felt like He had something so much bigger He wanted me to be doing than what I was doing with my life. Turns out I wasn't listening. Oh I heard Him, several times in fact. However, I realize now that I let the lie of not being good enough overpower the volume of His voice.

For years I have had passions bubbling up inside of me. Passions for writing, for teaching middle schoolers, for books, for learning. I even used these passions to develop a few BIG ideas, but I put myself and the God who created me in a box. I allowed myself to believe that I wasn't talented enough. Believing these lies came from the world around me who told me I wasn't talented enough or there was no way it could be done.

Today God shut that down. No more do I need to think of myself as living in a box with walls of  impossibility. If God doesn't deserve to be placed in a box then neither do I because He created me.

If God has ordained it to happen it WILL happen. No matter how many times you put Him off. He will continue to pursue you and convince you of the strength He has given to you. God is not one to give up on us. Moses murdered a man and God still used him. David committed adultery and God still used him. Matthew was exploiting his fellow Jews and yet God used him. None of these men had reason to believe they could be used by God for some BIG idea, but God used them. He used their passions and who He had created them to be to fulfill His greatest act of love. If God used these men, and these are just three examples of many, then who am I to say He can't use me? Of course He can! He can use me and He can use you. When we recognize that our God loves us and wants us to be a part of spreading His glory, we can finally recognize who He created us to be. He has given you talents that only you can posses, because only you can share what kind of God we serve in that specific way He planned for your life.

Get over your inadequacies! They are not who you are and God told you this when He nailed His only son to a cross for you! He did that for YOU! Your disbelief is the only thing standing in the way of being who God created you to be. Ask Him today, what am I choosing to believe instead of believing in who you created me to be? Then give Him time to answer and be sure that you are listening. Soak in His words, they are the truth.
