Here is a list of things all about me.
1. I am the oldest child of 4 and the only girl ; )
2. Being the only girl means I can hold my own in conversations about football, especially Steelers!
3. I have taught 7th grade Language Arts for 7 years and 3 years as an 8th grade Reading teacher.
4. I have a mild obsession with books. My personal classroom library totals 1500 books.
5. I learned how to do a back handspring when I was 5, which kicked off my gymnastics career.
6. I've coached volleyball and cheerleading.
7. Last year I created an after school club called Movie Book Club. We read the book, then the script, then go see the movie! So much fun!
8. My baby brother works at Lionsgate and took me to the Hunger Games permiere. Best night ever!
9. My birth is in a medical record book. My mother was infected with German Measles during her pregnancy which usually causes physical deformities. However, my body generated the antibodies to fight it specifically so I'm all good!
10. I like to sew and scrapbook.
11. My birthday is a national holiday in Australia! And that's where I'll be for the next one!
12. I spent a quarter teaching/living in Cairo, Egypt in 2004.
13. The first week of July I will be spending with a group of foster kids at Royal Family Kids Camp.
14. My dog is black and white so I named her Page.
15. Some day I'd like to be a published author. (Sorry this is not living up to those writing standards.)
16. My favorite fruit is starwberries.
17. I'm actually excited about living in a tent for a year with little clothing choices. I'm hoping it will shock away my shopping addiction ; )
18. I cut my hair because I thought short would be better if showers were limited.
19. I will need to watch the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy just to see how they get out of the woods.
20. I'm blown away by the idea of not having to teach next year. No lesson plans, no grading papers, no crazy middle schoolers.
21. I don't wear contacts any longer because I had lasik!
22. I'm slightly nervous about being the "old" woman on my race team. (I'm 33)
23. My favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11
24. I can usually read a young adult book in 3-4 days.
25. Generally I like to be a direct kind of person and appreciate when others are the same with me.
26. Usually I like to be in charge or take the lead, but that is slowly fading.
27. As a teacher, I've created a coffee addiciton so I hope this can be sustained while in the field.
28. I'm not one to give up, but thinking of 50 things about your self is challenging.
29. I had pink and purple highlights last month.
30. I got my agápe tattoo after going on the Emmaus Walk.
31. People make fun of me for having small feet. I wear a size 5 1/2 or 6 if that's all they have.
32. Is it possible for me to NOT see snow in the next year of my life? If so, that makes me ecstatic!
33. Since having an iPhone I've put my life into it. I know nothing without it.
34. You'll have to excuse me if I accidently introduce myself as Miss Bartemes. Occupational hazard.
35. I'm not much for cooking.
36. I have a stack of about 14 books that my kids told me to read this summer, so I'm going to need to find time to do that since books are heavy.
37. Just thinking about this packing thing; who wishes there was an app for that? ME!
38. From the 4th to 8th grade my family lived in an house that was formerly a funeral home. We used to tell friends made up stories about ghosts who were there. Kids didn't like spending the night with us.
39. I have a fear of lightening.
40. I'm kind of messy. I'm excited to not have to do dishes or vacuum this next year.
41. I'm not very good at singing, but I will when everyone else drowns me out.
42. My nastiest habit is that I bite my nails. I'm hoping this will suside while in the field.
43. My favorite candy is Twizllers.
44. Since I drive to work everyday I listen to The Elvis Duran Morning Show. They are hilarious!
45. My favorite shows are crime/cop shows. (C.S.I., Bones, Mentalist, Castle)
46. I'm a multitasker; grading papers while watching tv is much more entertaining.
47. I have a lot of scars. I blame this on growing up with only boys.
48. I had stiches at 12 and 32.
49. I've been wearing a Claddaugh ring since 1998.
50. My dog keeps staring at me asking, "Can we go to bed now?" I'm more of a night owl than a morning person.
