I’m writing to you after swimming in the lake next to our house here in Ometepe. As I was swimming this phrase kept racing through my mind all while literally coming up for a breath of fresh air.

“a breath of fresh air”

Since being here in Nicaragua I can’t help but say I have had many of these moments where this phrase is applicable. The Lord has been so intentional on my heart. He has stretched me in going out of my comfort zone. He has showed me what true community looks like. He has given me the strength to process and forgive. He has challenged me to dig deep and push in. He is so good.

Ministry this week has looked like teaching the 3rd & 4th graders English, having devotional and worship with the kiddos at Cicrin, helping clean the rancho, cleaning out the gutters around the campus and so much more. The other 15 girls here are quickly becoming more and more like my family.

I am so thankful that this is the season I was handpicked to be in.

This upcoming week has so much in store for us as we get to share a meal with a local missionary, gather together as a team in sabbath, hike a volcano, minister, share testimonies and love each other to the best of our abilities.

Below are some of my favorite memories this week – captured.

A sweet moment with a sweet pup.

Runs with Miriam. (She’s the yellow speck in the right corner of the driveway)

Meet Gustavo – what a sweet soul he is.

Meet Mary Paz – her name means Mary Peace in English. She loves to swing, laugh and be tickled. It’s these moments I’ll cherish forever.

Church with Melissa – she gives the best hugs.

The sunset – something I look forward to every night.

Stay tuned with what the Lord has in store for me and my team these next 2 weeks at Cicrin.
